The Business of Film: Ghostbusters Frozen Empire, Immaculate, The Lavender Hill Mob & One Life
James Cameron-Wilson says that #1 Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is the sort of film that makes him sorry he became a film critic, being rushed, full of bloated CGI and an utter waste of time. He found horror film Immaculate at #3, set in an Italian convent, nasty and utterly formulaic. He and Simon celebrate the cinema re-release of Ealing comedy The Lavender Hill Mob while James urges everybody to see Anthony Hopkins in the amazing true-life tale of Nicholas Winton and the Kindertransport, One Life, now out for home viewing.

The Business of Film: One Life, Priscilla & Good Grief
James Cameron-Wilson marvels that Wonka is still #1 after 5 weeks, with total of £53m at the UK box office. Anthony Hopkins stars in One Life, the true story of stockbroker Nicholas Winton's extraordinary wartime rescue of hundreds of Jewish children. James found it beautifully realised and hugely affecting. He was less impressed with Priscilla, about the spouse of Elvis Presley. Written and directed by Sofia Coppola, which he found unimaginative. He admired the decor and scenery more than the plot in Netflix's drama about grief and friendship, Good Grief, written and directed by Dan Levy.

The Business of Film: Snake Eyes, Reminiscence, The Father and Beckett
James Cameron-Wilson analyses the latest UK box office, with Free Guy still #1. At #6 is GI Joe spin-off Snake Eyes with Henry Golding. Sci-fi action film noir Reminiscence with Hugh Jackman only limps in at #11 a film so dire that, for the first time ever, James overheard somebody asking for their money back! As DVD of the week, he recommends the Oscar-winning The Father with Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Colman with excellent bonus material. And he also likes Netflix's Beckett, a thriller with John David Washington.

The Business of Film: In The Heights, The Father, Monster Hunter & The Reason I Jump
James Cameron-Wilson welcomes the arrival in cinemas of Lin-Manuel Miranda's musical In The Heights, laments the disappointing performance of double Oscar-winner The Father, starring Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Colman and admires hugely the genre-bending Nobody which he calls a cross between Death Wish and American Beauty! He looks at the latest video game adaptation Monster Hunter and, although well down the chart, admires the documentary The Reason I Jump. He welcomes the arrival for home entertainment of the winner of two Oscars, Judas and the Black Messiah.
