The UK's housing market is in crisis. Its widely agreed that the acute shortage of homes, the gap between supply and demand, isn't going to be bridged without a huge shift in approach. The UK should ideally be building around 300 thousand homes to reduce the deficit in supply, though last year we managed little more than half that. The Building Societies Association might usually be seen as mainly concerned with lending and interest rates, but today it's bringing out a report which outlines the need to make the most of new building technologies.
