Everything's going up on the News Review with Kevin Pratt.
On today's news round-up, financial broadcaster of the year Georgie Frost and Kevin Pratt from Money Supermarket go over the big stories of the week so far. And today everything is on the rise, as rents across the UK went up further in June, British employees face an extra seven years of saving before retirement, car insurance premiums have risen by £115, and long-haul flights from Gatwick rose 24 per cent. The only thing going down this week is the amount people spent on the high street last month. For this and more, this is the Consuming Issues News Review.

This Is Money: Pounds, Property and Pensions
On this edition of This Is Money, Editor Simon Lambert and Personal Finance Editor Rachel Rickard-Strauss are in to talk more Brexit fall-out, of course; will Mark Carney’s reassuring tones be enough to steady the ship, as Sterling falls further than we've seen since Walter Mondale was a relevant cultural reference? We’ll also be looking at property fund lockouts, and why you should NEVER trust them with your pension. And stay tuned to the end as we have a rare win for the little guy, to the tune of £19 Billion! Consuming Issues: Can challenger banks break into the UK's banking top four
Challenger banks were hailed as the answer to the UK's troubled banking industry, forcing competition and making existing providers work harder to keep and win customers. These so-called challenger banks are keen to break into the market, to shake it up in a similar manner to the way we've seen small energy firms take on the 'big six' power companies. One of them is POCKIT, and their CEO and Founder, Virraj Jatania, joined Georgie to explain how they can break into the banks' top four.

This is Money: Congratulations all round!
Pride is at maximum capacity this week, as the team from This is Money take Financial Website of the Year at the Headline Money Awards, and our very own Georgie Frost picked up Financial Broadcaster of the Year. After a couple of minutes of self-congratulating, It’s time to get back to the real money talk that got us the awards in the first place. Mark Carney has warned that Brexit could have devastating effects on the UK economy, though it’s bad news for under-30s no matter what, as they’ll be the first generation to be worse off than their parents. We’ll also be looking at Challenger Banks, are they really different from the big guys? And finally, Simon indulges his love of American muscle. This Is Money is presented in partnership with NS&I.
