This week look at the lack of female entrepreneurs. The number has fallen for the third year in a row and according to Natwest, it's costing the UK economy £1 billion a year. But, plenty of women do start and run their own business. So what is going on? So much so, that 1 in 5 small business owners with cashflow problems aren't able to pay their staff, and are instead having to dip into their savings. According to new data from the Cranfield School of Management and the British Standards Institution businesses are 'sleepwalking' into disaster as Brexit approaches. They also found less than one-third of CEOs were confident of leading their firms to long term success. The report argues companies aren't taking enough risks because of 'rigid' ways of thinking. To discuss the findings James Brydges spoke to Howard Kerr, CEO of the British Standards Institution.

This week the Northern Restaurant and Bar Show will be coming to Manchester providing the North's biggest hospitality show to industry professionals. According to latest stats the North of the country has lead the way for Britain's food and drink industry with cities such as Leeds, Newcastle and Nottingham topping the growth tables for independent restaurants. Overall growth has proved strong though with a widespread boom in the independent sector. Company news: Just Eat's share drops after CEO steps down, Greene Kings's growth lower than expected, Nationwide's profit drop 16%, and more - with Oanda's Craig Erlam
Just Eat Chief Executive David Buttress announced that he will step down due to "urgent family matters", this sent the company's shares down 6% in the first hour of trading today. UK's largest pub retailer and brewer Greene King released its 40th week trading statement update which saw the group having a slow sales growth between January and November despite a record-breaking Christmas Day. Plus, British lender Nationwide's profit dropped 16 percent as low rates bite.
