As we approach 6 months since the EU referendum, the jobs market is showing more signs of shaking off the uncertainty of the first part of the year. Last month saw the greatest increase in new permanent jobs since February. The monthly Recruitment and Employers Confederation survey compiled by IHS Markit, also shows the number of temporary and agency staff increase at the fastest rate in 7 months. Simon was joined by Chris Williamson, chief business economist at IHS Markit.

Will we see house price growth slow noticeably next year?
The latest Reuters Housing Market Poll was released earlier today and it predicts that annual house price growth for the whole of this year will be 4.7%. It also predicts that house price growth will drop to just 2% next year, with prices falling slightly in London. Simon was joined by Russell Quirk, chief executive of online estate agents Emoov.
