The latest consumer spend data from Barclaycard shows that spending growth hit 5.5% in October. But the data also reveals that consumer confidence in the UK economy dropped from a record high level in September, with only a third of people feeling confident in the UK economy. The number of workers taking claims of unfair dismissal or discrimination to employment tribunals has slumped since charges came into force. That's according to trade body, TUC. The group says the number of workers filing such cases had fallen from 16,000 a month to 7,000 since the fees were introduced in 2013.
